If you answered yes to any of these questions, then this workshop may be for you!
Details about CSC-SW24:
Accepted CSC-SW24 workshop attendees will receive a free membership in the National Association of Science Writers (NASW) and free registration for all ScienceWriters 2024 conference activities, which include virtual events. You can find out more about this year’s conference HERE!
Accepted workshop attendees will also receive travel support to attend this year’s conference in Raleigh, North Carolina. To reduce costs associated with the workshop, some workshop positions will be reserved for local attendees and/or those who have secured additional travel support from other sources.
At our workshop, you will receive personal hands-on training, you’ll be assigned a one-on-one mentorship pairing with a science journalism professional, and you will ALSO publish an original piece by the end of the workshop (see examples of our published pieces in the CASW New Horizons Newsroom).
Workshop attendees will be asked to attend a virtual session (TBD) ahead of the in-person workshop events, which will occur on Friday November 8th in Raleigh, NC.
Applications are open to all graduate and early-stage post-graduate students, as well as early-stage science writers. Undergraduate applications will also be considered.

The 2024 ComSciCon-SciWri workshop will occur in Raleigh, North Carolina in conjunction with the 2024 ScienceWriters conference.
For those selected to attend this year’s workshop, more information will be provided, including lodging and suggested travel arrangements.
