Please note:
– Only graduate students and early career professionals are eligible to apply.
– There is no reimbursement for travel, transportation, or hotel expenses for attendees.
– Admission priority will be given to current graduate students who didn’t participate in ComSciCon Chicago previously.
– Registration closes when seats are full for this event. The application form is now open and will close at 11:59 P.M. on September 1st, 2025.
– Attendee must attend the entire day of event and submit a review form to receive Attendance Certificate.
– Write-a-thon workshop in ComSciCon Chicago 2025 requires to complete and submit the pre-event a piece of writing.An important element of ComSciCon Chicago is the writing workshop. You are responsible for bringing a prewritten essay (we will send you the writing prompts at a later time), which will be peer-reviewed and edited.

Instructions how to park:

1) There is Rush University Parking on Harrison St. Parking is sponsored by Rush University Culture Center: We provide free parking for speakers and discounted parking for attendees.

2) There is street parking on Harrison St., Tylor St. and around Rush University area.

Instructions to access Armor Academic Center (AAC), Rush University Chicago, IL:
1) If you are coming from Pink line, Blue line, or street parking: access Armor Academic Center (AAC) of Rush University from Paulina St. crossed with Harrison St. Then take the elevator to 4th floor. Room 450.
Follow the signs and instructions.

2) If you parked at Rush Public Parking: access Armor Academic Center (AAC) of Rush University from floor 4 of the parking through the bridge towards AAC building, and take the elevator to 4th floor, Room 450.

What is a Write-A-Thon?

A Write-A-Thon is a dynamic and collaborative workshop designed to help early-career scientists enhance their science communication skills. Participants will engage in intensive writing sessions, receive feedback from experienced mentors, and learn effective storytelling techniques to communicate their research to diverse audiences. Whether you’re drafting a blog post, an op-ed, or another piece of science writing, the Write-a-thon provides a supportive environment to refine your work and connect with a community of like-minded science communicators.

We will reach out to attendees after registeration is closed on Sep 1st, 2025.
